What does regular mapping mean Carl?

Thanks for the listen and comment!

Regular mapping is the kind of music theory you claim not to
understand, which produces the scales Petr uses, including
hanson[19]. -C.

By the way, just to hear the difference, you should be able to
use the same MIDI but put pianoteq in 19-ET instead. 19 is a
hanson tuning, and it might sound a little rougher than the
tuning Petr gave you, but should be fairly close. An interesting
comparison, perhaps. -C.

I claim not to understand?

Huh?

You are very cryptic today Carl.

Ok, sorry. You had on several occasions said you are the
least knowledgeable person here (which I hardly think is true),
stuff goes over your head, etc. Anyway, I was shocked you
weren't familiar with the term, which has been heavily discussed
on these lists for some time, and especially over the last
week or two. Anyway, please ignore. I'll shut up now. -Carl

Carl,

Don't confuse what I understand with my ear with what I understand with my
eyes.
A lot of time terminology gets in the way of clarity. This is true of many
fields, including tuning, chemistry, geology, etc.

And some of the posts here are very hard to read - not that what is said
isn't valuable - so I may miss what you saw.

Right now I'm analyzing my improvisation which is proving interesting.

Clarification: *one of* the least knowledgeable - not the - no idea who that
may be - probably changes week to week.

Chris,
This is a beautiful piece of music. The Gbmaj7 to Abmaj7 progression
(not sure how it'd be spelled out in this new tuning) is awesome. In
general we seem to have a lot of similar musical ideas, and since you
seem to be finding a lot of success with this hanson tuning, I think
I'll delve into it as well.

I would have thought it was just straight JI had you not said anything.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the listen and comment. I think I'm picking and choosing a lot
here. However, as I went on in the piece I started to find more interesting
harmonies to play with - I may revisit this.

Would anyone be interested in the (12 tet) midi file?
