The Paca looks like it's "only" $3K. I used Kyma X on a
Capybara (the predecessor to the Pacarana) when I reviewed
the Haken Continuum. It can handle anything microtonally,
not just EDOs to 50. But to be honest, it felt a bit
outdated. I didn't spend much time with it so take that
with a grain of salt. Marcus Hobbs used to use it to make
his microtonal techno, but I believe he migrated to Cubase
and Reaktor (IIRC). Kyma is completely flexible and
programmable, but is more oriented for sound design than
music making.
