Hi Darren,

You must mean Dark Star? I think Carpenter is one of the few
filmmakers who routinely scores some, if not all, of his films'
soundtrack, and I believe that's all Carpenter on Dark Star, but I'm
not quite sure.

take care,

Hello Darren!
I don't know but, in most cases, John Carpenter does his own music. I think
this is the only director who does. i like his stuff as it is alot of fun in the
context of his films which are always "B" movies. he knows how to keep a certain
tension and unpredictability despite it's downfalls.

The film is actually "Dark Star".

I, too, always wondered who did that scene.
