Gene's Jitterbug

This was supposed to be the first of a series of simple pieces in magic temperament. But I didn't get it finished by May Day, and then got sidetracked and didn't get back to it until last week. So it's now grown in importance as another rare example of magic temperament, but still simple. And at last I've fulfilled my promise to name something after Gene Smith.

General MIDI file with pitch bends:

http://x31eq.com/music/jitter.midi

This is the output from LilyPond, and as such a soulless interpretation of the score, in 41 note equal temperament.

Score in tripod notation:

Score in mixed Sagittal for 60 note equal temperament:

http://x31eq.com/music/jitter60.pdf

Hopefully somebody can read that. It's an automatic conversion so some enharmonic equivalents may not be optimal (I can fix them if anybody cares).

Ogg Vorbis file:

This is the straight output from Timidity, so if you have better ways of rendering MIDI files you don't need it.

The original LilyPond file for hacking:

Requires some files from the tripod notation source code ... which also needs updating.

Nice, I like the chord movements where each individual note moves by a
small melodic step to produce larger harmonic change.

Nice work, Graham! A neat tune with presentable notation
in two systems. Can't complain about that! -Carl

Groovy piece Graham!!

I enjoyed it a lot. Has a happy but yet creepy feel to it.
