The unfolding of a New JI

Scene: a dimly-lit music theory dungeon, somewhere in the early 21st century. A man sits at a desk, smiling over some notes. A lowly functionary enters from stage right:

Lowly Functionary: "Emporer? Meet 'clothes'. I see you haven't met before, or at least it appears so."
