Moonlight Gamma Serenade is the third piece I compose using the same mode of Carlos Gamma after Adagio Gamma and Gammalan.

thanks Kraig
yes, it came out well.
once I'll get my generalized keyboard I intend to delve more into Carlos Gamma.

thanks Chris
I have come to the conclusion that, for me, symmetrical tuning systems are the way to go (I can always change mind later, can't I?)
About sharing: it's my pleasure!

Hi Carlo!
It is hard doing this stuff w/o one! i had some reed organs in a 31 just that later i had to go down to a 22 tone subset. It made a big difference with a fifth like a minor ninth. a fifth sounding a third and a third sounding a second. Knowing this made some perverse sense. Still i had to have two organs to get a decent range! Keep up the nice work! I bet the scale can be pushed into a more chromatic area once one can move around it easier!

Thanks again Kraig
(btw I really like your "gendhing canright" on the untwelve 2009 compilation!).
Carlos Gamma can be much more chromatic than that but at least, this piece demonstrates that non-octave tuning systems can be "easy on the ear"
:-)

Another great track, Carlo, thanks! You are really using this underutilized tuning well, and I hope you do a lot more with it. This piece reminds me a bit of Angelo Badalamenti's theme music for Twin Peaks, though not as dark.

Thanks Dave!
It is underutilized because on a "Halberstadt" keyboard it simply has "too many notes"!!!
If you look at my blog you'll see that I use a mode of Carlos Gamma with 12 out of 20 notes within the repeat ratio of one perfect fifth. that makes one fifth the size of a standard octave and that helps (once you get accustomed...)
:-)
oh yeah...expect more of it!

Beautiful, captures the longing and ache of lydian mode. Nice string sound--between synthetic and sampled...what did you use?

BTW, I also liked the ribbonflute piece...keep 'em coming Carlo, you're one of 'le miei favoriti'...

This is nice. Carlos Gamma also sounds very smooth and relaxed to me; it's a tuning I should look more into.
