thanks carl, and for anyone who might be interested here's another
recording of the same material with a very different band recorded
about a year earlier for cable TV

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDJjWWBaWB0

Compared to the vibraphone quartet, this recording is not great--the
room was very wet and the only surviving video is a glitchy, third or
fourth generation copy. However, I think the playing is very dark and
quite okay. We only had one rehearsal for this recording, but they
were good players so that really wasn't a problem, in fact that's
more like the norm, and here it actually probably helped lend the
overall proceedings some of its psychotropic edge--Geoff I especially
liked as he got the whole "if Schoenberg was a jazz musician who
thought he was in a rock band" thing I like. Anyway, hope somebody
finds something here they can enjoy

and,for anyone who might be interested, here's a solo guitar video
from 1998 recorded at the old screw factory in Worcester, Mass as
part of that year's Jazz Worcester Festival. For what it's worth,
it's my opinion that the physical mode of interface is not nearly as
important or even interesting as the actual executed notes and, of
course, moreover, the music---->though they're not entirely unrelated
either, for sure! anyway, the idea here was my attempt at that time
at a kind of integrated 12-tone jazz, via head and 12-tone
extrapolation of that thematic material.

here's a studio recording of the same piece taken a bit later that
might be instructive, etc:

most, most impressive - excellent hammer technique

Is the guitar modified for hammering at all?

thanks chris.the only modification is a string damper to mute the
open strings.BTW, the date should've read 1988, not 1998. --- In
