This is some very nice acoustic guitar tuned to an unidentified
microtonal scale. http://www.indiejazz.com/ProductDetailsView.aspx?
ProductID=1332&af=pfmentum

A sample is available here: http://www.pfmentum.com/PFMCD051.html
His myspace has a few tracks as well:
http://www.myspace.com/tonydmusic but the first one that played there
was electric, and nothing like the sample at pfMentum.

When I first heard the guitar track I thought of Partch's Kitharas.

A friend of mine actually who i have shared bills with. He plays on an instrument with a very highly raised bridge. his tuning is more intuitive than planned or still was when i had left.

I should have added that he prepares the guitar also making it possible to get more than one tone out of a single string.
