Last year I had the pleasure of meeting and working with a young film
maker / documentarian, Jon Roy. He is working on a long project
documenting aspects of the life of Harry Partch. I recently got an
email from him about his recent activities, and I'm willing to bet a
few people on the list might find this of interest as well. Good
insights into Ben, his music, and Ben's views (from the horse's mouth)
on music, etc.

Check out Jon Roy's project "A New Dissonance" at:

http://www.newdissonance.com

"The project centers around the genesis of microtonal music composer
Ben Johnston's 10th String Quartet and includes contributions from the
composer himself.

It includes music, documentary videos of the rehearsal, interviews
with the composer and quartet members and new works from other
musicians created specifically for the project.

This project was made possible with the assistance of Ideas for
Creative Exploration (ICE) and the University of Georgia."

Cheers,
Jon (the usual one)
