THIRTY-ONE TONE SINGING CAMP 2nd Edition: NYC! (Upper East Side)

Learn to sing in 31 equal tones per octave, a tuning system that is close to meantone
tunings used centuries ago and also capable of new harmonies. Why, you ask? It's
something you don't know how to do! Nor hardly anyone - come and be among the first!

JULY 15-19, 2008 with the following breakdown:

Tuesday July 15, 8-10 PM: Experiential introduction to the 31-tone system and notation.

Wednesday July 16, 8-10 PM: Learn a movement from "Songs of Fruits and Vegetables"
by Paul Rapoport, for 31-tone choir.

Thursday July 17, 8-10 PM: FIELD TRIP to Queens College to learn and sing with the
Terpstra Generalized Keyboard. Short theory and composition assignments.

Friday July 18, 8-10 PM: Read through Gesualdo madrigals and original compositions.

Saturday July 19, *1-5 PM*: Bring an instrument(!), show and tell, jam session, discussion.

Free; limited spaces. All ages & voices welcome. Can be attended in part or in full.
Knowledge of common music notation required for Tues., Thurs., Fri. sessions. RSVP for

Hey, I've heard of you... Aaron Krister Johnson has a copy of your
work "Insect Ballet" up on his site. One of my favorite pieces... I
just listened to it earlier today.

I would love to get involved with ha 31-tet choir, but alas, I have no
time. Some recordings from this whole thing would certainly make for
an interesting listen though.

Not Jacob's, but my work. The link to a live performance of it is on
Jacob's site, hence your confusion.
