I have deleted the offending postings (which pertain to you) from the
MicroMadeMusic list. I have kept Herman's info because it was
addressed to me and I have the right to preserving it on a smaller list
where it won't become lost among 10,000 messages (at least for quite a
while).

Actually it was addressed to the list, and it was a reply to a message from Jon Szanto. I don't mind it being forwarded to another list, as long as you get your facts straight.

From Robert. OK. The facts are now straight and thankyou. I've
certainly been having an interesting run of it lately. Hounded from the
tuning group, banned from the tuning-math group, precariously perched
in the MakeMicroMusic group and sitting unassailable in the
MicroMadeEasy group. Ah, the sweet mystery of life!

There's no mystery. If someone calls you a horse, forget about it. Someone else calls you a
horse, think about it. A third person calls you a horse.... get yourself a saddle.

QUESTION: Why do the heathen rage and plot in vain?
ANSWER: Because they know not the truth.

The beauty of art is that there are many truths.

From Robert. I agree with you so perhaps we can include the patterns,
the pattern studies and all the other forms of musical artistry which
our civilisation has accumulated over the ages including the software
written by intelligent musicians for the common man as well as the
hardware designed for common practice. This inclusive group should
include Band-in-a-Box (or similar) and Kurzweil synths (or similar) as
well as the various and sundry groups and organisations which promote
progressive development in the field of microtonal music. Modern
keyboards generally have tuning tables which are described in cents
which conforms to both musicological and ethnomusicological practice.
It is only mumbo-jumbo and number-juggling mathematicians who limit
themselves to explaining their ideas in numerical ratios which don't
mean very much to real musicians. (Exeunt stage left and wait for the
cannon fire).

At least you admit that you're trolling for flame wars... I feel
confident that the vast majority of people here will be mature enough
to start ignoring you...
