13-limit protest song

Hallo,

<http://handmaderecords.com/tracks>

See 'Mercy' for a microtonal protest song by fretless guitarist
songwriter Paul Kotheimer. Scale:

1/1 13/12 7/6 16/13 11/8 13/8 7/4

Well, that's what we shot for. With voice, fretless guitar, and
udderbot all trying to agree, who knows what we settled on. Suffice to
say those were our operating perceptual categories :)

This was premiered at a recent house concert in Urbana IL, my current
stomping grounds. There will be another concert next Wednesday the
26th, and if all goes well, microtonality will be once again manifest.
Email me offlist if you're in the neighborhood.

(Me? I've been trying to write more rounds 'n pedagogy, and I'm
getting bored with myself. There's this project description
<http://xenharmonic.wikispaces.com/MicroPedagogyCollective> but no
real bubbling activity due to a lack of people who have expressed a
desire to coordinate their microtonal education with others. I
personally wanna do more with 31-tone ear training, but if anybody
else has a better idea, I'm all for that as well.

Incidentally, *the* microtonal wiki
<http://xenharmonic.wikispaces.com> could really get off the ground if
we had more than two people interested in contributing. The trick is
to make the work of building the wiki satisfy a need that you had for
yourself anyway - for camraderie in pedagogy, or keeping track of all
these links flying around, or cataloguing your favorite retunings with
whimsical descriptions, or whatever.)

I finally hunkered down and made a chorale to go with the 31-tone-row
alphabet-song I've had for a year and a half. It's pretty decent.
Whole exercise plays at the bottom of page

(: Sing along, won't you :)
