On the question a will back of tempered rhythmn. it appears that stockhausen did this with duration in the piece kontacte, where he divided the tempo between 60 and 120 in 12 equal parts.

That's not tempering to how I think of it. Nancarrow's irrational
meters were at least, well, irrational, but still didn't have a
purpose analogous to temperament.
