Hello Tuning Listers:

I wanted to report the good news that my two "seminal" (or at least
possibly "most significant"... at least to myself :) microtonal
scores are now available commercially.

_Blackjack_ for trombone and electronics and _Blacklight_ for cello
and electronics, both in the "Blackjack" scale, that we devised
mostly on the companion Tuning List (before the advent of this MMM
list) over a period of a couple of years, are now available from
Subito Music, Inc.:

http://www.subitomusic.com/

I should also mention that _Blackjack_ as some may already know, is
available in recorded form as played by the wonderful Chris Washburne
on Johnny Reinhard's American Festival of Microtonal Music CD,
entitled, ELECTRONICAL.

It is available though CD BABY, Amazon.com and iTunes. Just
search "Joseph Pehrson" any of those places...

Hi Joseph,

Congratulations!

By the way I went to that page and all I found under your name was:

Harmonic Etude for Horn

Levitations for Viola & Piano

Spectral Harmony for Alto Saxophone & Horn

Violarimba for Viola & Marimba

---------

There was no explanations about these works neither
and I would like to know a bit more about it if they are
to be mentioned on this list!

***Hi Tony,

Thanks for the interest. Yes, I should have mentioned that the new
works _Blackjack_ and _Blacklight_ are available through Subito, but
they are not all up on the webpage as yet. One will have to email or
phone them. Additionally, one should mention that these are *new
scores* so they will know who to ask, rather than just looking in a
catalog.

The only specifically microtonal work from the list you have given
above is the _Harmonic Etude_ for solo horn. This piece is written
in just intonation for solo horn and was premiered by the fine
hornist Francis Orval in Merkin Hall in New York, so it has had a
nice history. Additionally, it is in the *circulating* score section
of the New York Public Library, which is also nice to know...

You can hear many of my pieces on my SoundClick page... in fact over
10 hours of music (certainly you have that much time to devote to
this... :)

Thanks again for the interest!!
