Hi everyone,

Some of you may know already that I've been exploring different
Wilsonian concepts as a composer for the past few years, starting with
combination-product sets and then moments of symmetry. Now I'm
working on Mt. Meru. I think I have the basic idea(s) of it, but I
don't understand the zig-zag patterns yet.

I have a feeling that there are more adepts out there than I'm aware
of, and I'm wondering if there would be any interest in creating a
loose network of fans and devotees. Among other things, it might be
nice to get a broad view of the variety of things people are doing
with his ideas, bringing together people from different disciples
(i.e. world music and mathematics), and provide a more unified front
for the continuation of his work.

Personally, knowing what other people are up to and having a forum to
find out more (especially from people who know him personally!) would
be great. Also, I might like to collect people's experience and
understanding for a journal article or something.

Anyway, that's just a feeler; but at the very least, if you have a
particular interest in some aspect of Wilson's work and wouldn't mind
conversing about it, please let me know if I haven't spoken to you
already!

Thanks,

Chris Bryan

I am finishing my own introduction to Wilson's MOS letter which includes an explanation of the zig zag patterns.
Basically since all these sequences converge on a particular interval, the zig zag pattern shows the various MOS that interval would form
I will send this offlist. I believe that Warren Burt's dissertation is on the Meru scales. I also have a few papers on some different approaches to them which i can share

I know that Erv was given a copy of the manuscript which was hundred of pages long. and i think it is in some sort of review process before it will be available. Perhaps Warren will post something.
