I've put a new piece in 53 EDO up on my bumper music blog. You can
hear it at http://ripnread.com/listen/sing53-c4.mp3 or read about it
at http://bumpermusic.blogspot.com/2007/05/whisper-song-in-53-edo.html

Enjoy.

I really like those super-fast and ethereal thumb piano arppeggios - and what a gorgeous
ending. As usual, I'm amazed you do it all through programming.

Prent,

One of your very best, evah. I can never figure out how to call it: "sublimely relentless" or "relentlessly sublime". Either way works. Killer ending, too.

This is the shit.

Cheers,
Jon

I agree with all the previous commenters, this is a great piece. The only thing I dislike somewhat to is the aforemented relentnessness which reminds me of fever dreams. There is not enough time for me to digest what came before new things appear. With repeated listening things make more and more sense though. The harmonic grasp you have of 53edo is amazing and so is the sound quality.

Prent, I'd say this is your best yet.

The melody in the bass flute also reminded me a little of FZ, with added funk of course.

To tell the truth, if it was anyone else's piece I'd be more rough about it, but it really is a signature of Prent's style, and I am comfortable with it. And I am comfortable with it. And I am comfortable with it.

Cheers,
Jon

Guys,
Thanks for listening and the wonderful comments, Jon, Aaron, Magnus,
Danny, Aaron, and Jon. I'll have to find a faster way to work, though.
This one took me around 20 months to finish. Elephants gestate faster
than I write music.

Don't you dare. Look at flies: they breed fast, and all we get are more flies.

You made me feel better when you said that. I've got unfinished compositions that I started over 20 years ago.

I've got pieces I haven't finished that I haven't even started. This could take me forever...

Jon

So what's your workflow, why does it take so long? I think they would
like this on kvr's music cafe.
