Piece in 19EDO (midwest microfest)

Alright, here is a contribution by me. (Phew, again...)

The title is "Gon Dance", in german "Gon-Tanz", which is a pun - more
precise, a spoonerism of "Ganzton" (whole-tone), which refers, of
course, to the scale the composition is based on. The point that
interested me here was the fact that whole-tone scales in 19edo do
not have such a fearful symmetry as in 12edo, and I wondered whether
a whole-tone piece in 19edo would have less of that
notorious "amorphous" or "rootless" character that is so typical for
many 12edo whole-tone pieces. This question (like many I have asked)
is not clearly answered yet - maybe it will when the piece gets
longer. It might, BTW, still grow over summer.

The concrete scale used was derived from a series of 9 whole-tones (3
units in 19-EDO). This gives the following scale: 0, 2, 3, 5, 6, 9,
12, 15, 18. This scale also has the property that it contains every
interval of 19EDO - except pure fourths and fifths.

Hans,
I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. I especially liked the accentuation
of microtonal intervals after the theme in "whole tones". Great stuff,
nice dramatic change.

I'll have more to say about the other recent announcements of new
works after I've had a chance to listen to all the contributions. This
place is really hopping!

Funny thing, BTW, now that I am listening again - I hardly notice that
it is in an alternative tuning...
Maybe I'll make a 12EDO version, too, to compare.
