Jacob,

Am I to understand there was a 17-tone concerto last
night? Is there audio or video available?

Sincereley,

-Carl

Wow, this was quite a production! Many thanks to you and everyone else
who was involved. It's nice to see 17 edo get this kind of attention.

Great, just great.

Daniel Thompson's Nocturne really caught my ear. It's a
good piece of music that can interest me at this tempo. And
it really was sleep-inducing in a sweet way, like a nocturne
should do.

Jon Smith's Etude was nice also.

AKJ's Insect Ballet was always I thought a really good
example of how to use 17-tET.

Wow, Jacob. I am immensely impressed. I mean, SERIOUSLY. Even
better than the last one! This really is an amazing accomplishment.
I can't believe you actually got string players and vocalists to
perform in 17-EDO, every student I know in the music department here
at UCSC just glares at me when I mention microtones (of course, I'm a
philosophy major, so go figure that they don't take me seriously). As
of right now, I think "Fonala" and "Nocturne" are my favorites. Was
this the last phase of the project?

Jacob,

My public thanks to you for doing this. Well done, again! You, and
the players, really pulled it off well. You are certainly doing the
microtonal community a big favor with all of your energies and
commitment. Finally, you are a doer, which is a great thing.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, given the time you had, at
how well it all came together. I noticed wee little mistakes in
'Insect Ballet', but nothing at all big. It was great to hear real
players doing it.

I enjoyed the other pieces on the program as well.

Thanks again!

-Aaron.

Quite impressive, indeed! The Scheurich piece cuaght my attention, too -
looks quite a bold idea, to combine classical instruments and
classical singers with udderbots - and it worked!
