Hi Daniel,

I have a 96ET bellophone that is probably going to be exhibit at the British
Science museum in an exhibition on Maths and Music (2009).

Here are the links

www.conicbells.wikispaces.com/

www.tonysalinas.com/

I also have available a 7 minutes video of a performance at the UK Microfest2 (this is an ensemble
piece, but I also have a study for the instrument)
I also have a demonstracion of an octave glissando (96ETchromatic scale) played in unison with a
96ET guitar.

I have been very busy since the UK microfest and I had no chance to edit this materials for the tuning
list and the MMM list but if you are still interested I could prepare some materials for you!

Sincerely,

Tony Salinas

Subject: [MMM] Unusual Microtonal Instruments

I could use some help with some research. I just got an email from a

British television show that is interested in doing a segment on

unusual instruments. I will probably be having a telephone conversation

with one of the researchers. I think I'm being consulted because of my

blog on ancient instruments. <http://lutesandviol s.blogspot. com/> I

have a lot of ideas, but I would like to also mention some unusual

instruments that are specifically designed for microtonal music. If you

can provide some examples or links, it would be appreciated.

I don't know if this will amount to anything. I know someone else who

assisted with a similar type of research and his information was pretty

much ignored in the end. It seems like it might be fun to collect this

information anyways.

Thanks,

Daniel Thompson

Thank you for this. The bellophone is cool. I never was contacted
again by that researcher. I'm probably on a long list and may not be
consulted. I did receive a good number of responses, though, and am
placing links on my blog to the people who contacted me. I also
started a series of articles about these instruments. It's not
television, but at least it provides some exposure. I'll let the list
know if anything more develops from this.

Thanks,
