Dan,

Here is something you may want to peek at, to see if it is flexible
enough for you. Lime notation software appears to be able to handle very
complex notations, polyrhythms, graphic notations and so on. I
downloaded the program and manual some time back, but settled on using
Harmony Assistant instead for other reasons.
