Comments on Spectral Voices' music:

"staggering beauty
and nuance"
~ Brian Bieniowski, The Ambient Review

"Quiet, calming, and meditative;
deeply textured and sublime.
Achingly poignant."
~ Bill Beck

"Â…unique, sublime, extraordinary and
beautiful....an experience that relaxes
the mind and body as it feeds
the imagination."
~ M. Jeffrey Schmidt, Massage Magazine

http://www.spectralvoices.com

"...the sound of a very personal gnosis, the kind of spiritual
leavening that, once glimpsed into, reveals itself to be deep and
vast....These Innertones capture a sense of the eternal, somehow, as
only the best of ambient music can. This stolen glimpse into an
oceanic landscape, foreign and seductive and familiar, is a place
that we will never truly know in its entirety....Luckily, we have
these marvelous Spectral Voices to guide us to that place, wherever
it may be, and I think you'll find that these ghostly inner journeys
are no less sweet in spite of their tantalizing ephemerality."

~ Brian Bieniowski – Innertones' liner notes

"Innertones" is the fifth album of Jim Cole & Spectral Voices'
mesmerizing overtone singing and spans works from 1994-2005. It
contains pieces recorded in a vast, reverberant water tower like
their debut "Coalescence" and follow up "Sky," and also more recent
group and solo recordings from the Gathering Room.

Spectral Voices use overtone singing (aka throat singing - each
person singing two or more notes at once) to improvise music of
subtle complexity and eerie beauty. Through spare lyrical melodies
and blossoming, shimmering chords, they create serene, heartfelt, and
intense music. Spectral Voices play the space they sing in as an
instrument, melding and enhancing their sound through the acoustics
and resonance. Thus, they sculpt sound within their bodies to
interact with the surrounding spaces and each other.

Jim Cole began practicing overtone singing in 1991, inspired by the
distinctive vocal sounds of Tibetan monks and the Harmonic Choir. He
formed the vocal group Spectral Voices, and later found an empty
water tower where they recorded their improvisations for three
years. In 1996 Jim received an artist fellowship award from the
Connecticut Commission on the Arts for work in overtone singing,
which supported the production and release of Spectral Voices' debut
CD "Coalescence."

Jim Cole & Spectral Voices' music has been heard on the syndicated
programs "Hearts of Space," "Echoes," and on hundreds of radio
stations worldwide since 1997. Their music has also been featured on
several episodes of the TV program "The Sacred Journey," hosted by
Joyce St. Germaine. They have performed at the Pangaea World Music
Festival and Virginia Highlands Festival, Rosicrucian meetings,
the "Gatherings" series in Philadelphia, art and cultural centers,
yoga studios, cathedrals and churches, universities, labyrinth walks,
and more.

Great to hear from you Kraig! - I continue to enjoy your musical
works (as do my daughters from time to time - but alas they're
getting into the thrall of the mega-pop world for a bit now on the
cusp of teenhood).

Yikes, sorry for your trouble ordering via PayPal - I just tried it
and it worked fine for me, and it's been working for others that have
been buying it via PayPal at our site. Could it be a cookie thing?

There's also the option to buy w/ via CCNow on our ordering page -
would you like to try that?

Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the support Kraig and best,

~jim
