This isn't a complete list, but...

Pros:
* Better everything (message delivery, spam control,
user interface, default plain-text mode available).
* Users can publish web pages for the group to see,
using Google's online WYSIWYG HTML editor.

Cons:
* Message archives will be forked (two places to look
for back messages).
* ?

You can play around with

http://groups.google.com/group/testing-yo

any way you like. I just set it so even non-members
can post. You can also join and see how that goes.

They also offer a feature where you can use a
Google Group to remotely archive a list. You just
'subscribe' the GG to the other list (say, the tuning
list), and the GG will archive all the messages.
Maybe a good way to backup a list if you don't trust
Yahoo's longevity.

The UI is strongly threaded into "topics", which can
be flagged as "open" or "closed". Hmm...

I don't see Polls or Database, which are two useful
features that Yahoo! offers.

I'm cross-posting this to MMM.
