It pains me to report problems with Tonescape. I am using Windows XP
with updates, including the latest Direct X. The software installed with
no problem, indicated my PC met all requirements, and booted up. I
opened the "sample" folder and selected LvB's "Moonlight" -- and
immediately got two "application error" reports. I was then able to play
the selection. When I selected another example (Mozart) I got a "DirectX
initialization failure" message, after which the software shut down.

This is exactly why i created the Tonescape Den Haag group
... and you're a member there, so i wish you would report
stuff like this over there!

It's going to be hard enough for me to get Chris (my partner
at Tonalsoft, who wrote the code for Tonescape) to take the
time to read the posts at that group -- forget about getting
any response from him here.

Please, folks, if you are interested in helping to get
Tonescape off the ground, join the focused group and post
comments there.
