I bought these last year, (the standard sensitivity ones, with black
windscreens) and it was one of the best purchases I've ever made from
a sound design point of view. The sound is nice and flat, and really
clean. I use them for field work with a Sony mini-disc recorder.

I remember the shock of playing things back in headphones and almost
having to jump out of my seat, thinking something was in the room with
me...and you get front/back realism too: a truck passing on your left
side from behind to front will sound that way!

I also made a soundfont based on binaurally recorded home sounds,
incuding a great little sample of my daughter's toy piano. I used in
in the last play I did sound and music for.

i find sometimes these things sound strange not though head phones.
an example: there is a keith jarrett record "Hymns, Spheres that was recorded this way where he played pipe organ.
I always wanted to experiment with a pair of biaural mics, two sets and see if one could get the best of both worlds.
