created and composed in a unique style on the biwa. a plucked pear shaped instrument.
this is the basis of all modern comp[osition for the instrument
her playing was the inspiration for november steps as takemitsu points out on the liner notes to her king record cd.
she was forced to quit playing between the age of 25 to 50 i and had to go into business in order to get the money she needed to be able to play the instrument how she wished.
now that is dedication.
her singing voice is so low i had to check three times that there was not some mistake as to who was singing.
