Here's my piece for Jacob Barton's 17 project:

http://works.music.columbia.edu/~chris/17tet/17waltz.mp3
http://works.music.columbia.edu/~chris/17tet/17waltz.pdf

This is a bit on the slow side, can't wait to hear the live version!
(I wouldn't have even made a MIDI, except that this is also a little wedding present for a friend of mine, who's getting married before the big show . . so . . .there it is. . . )

Really fun! I was hearing the "rag" option as well.

This might be the first 17 I've listened to, I'm actually surprised
it's not more jarring... I have a harder time digesting some of the
EDOs. Good stuff.

The deadline is is 8/27/06.

And by the way, I'm not getting married. I was quoting Chris' blog.
He's the groom. I engaged in similar activity 27 years ago, and my
wife would look down on a repeat with someone else.

So sorry! :(

I have the feeling that my wife of 33 years would, similarly, look
down on any repeat attempt. As a Muslim, of course, there do exist
circumstances under which I would be *obliged* to take another wife,
or two, or three, but (luckily, one might think) these are not those
circumstances ...

My very best wishes for continued domestic felicity!

Cool! The tempo seems fine to me...a good moderate waltz speed. This
reminds me of some of that borderline tonal/atonal Schoenberg. I
think he would have loved 17.
