As if there wasn't already too much new (microtonal) music to be
taking in these days...I keep finding these gems hiding in random
corners of the internet...

AMAZINg jazz quartertone saxophone. reminds me in more than one way of
dan stearns.

my favorites: micro-tone caprice 6, suite 1 for 8 micro-tonal
woodwinds, air blues, Dragon Pearl Massage Music...

Uses a structure called "split scales" which I assume is taking your
tonal scale and shearing half the notes away by a quartertone

Did you read the "saxo" page at:
http://www.softspeakers.com/saxo.html ?

Here he describes the scale, in passing, as two major scales a
quartertone apart. More valuable, IMO. he also debates jazz VERSUS
improvisation, and the yin-yang balance, and the virtue of
retreating to contemplatively grow vegetables in the country ...
Well worth a read for every practising or apiring musician, I think.

So far I've just listened to the first piece, based on Messiaen, and
haven't got past it, since I'm now playing it for the third time!
This music is SO good. Thank you eternally for the link.

Yahya
