Ha, amazingly I had a totally mint Silvertone that came with a big
rectangle hardshell case that had an amplifier built right into it
when I was 13 or 14... unfortunately I was too young to know what I
had, and I think I gave it away or traded it for next to nothing!

It sounds pretty wild live. I heard the premier with Brian Eno's
Music for Airports at Lincoln Center.

List,

For whatever reason, I have a new Bang On A Can All-Stars
Cd, "Renegade Heaven". On it, they perform a new Glenn Branca piece
for all manner of instruments he designed and built, along with
custom samples. Seriously microtonal in a non-system-like manner.
Short clip available on the BOAC site:

Cheers,
Jon

(P.S. It's nothing Dan Stearn's couldn't do with a turntable and an
old Sears Silvertone...)
