New "Mazified" versions of some of my pieces

After all my griping about people complaining about out-of-tuneness, I
had a very nice experience. Someone from utterly outside of the
microtonal community happened across my personal music webpage, and
was blown away by the new universe of sounds. But "Maz", it seems,
didn't think much of my renderings (where have I heard that before?)
and, remarkably I think, made his own.

Here they are:

I take it you meant:

Was this "Maz", the developer of the Anamark modular synths?

Cheers,
Jon

After looking at your page, no, not even close! I've only listened to Choraled - do _you_ like it better, or ?? I find the instrumental setting, and the bit of variety he added just with 'orchestration', to be helpful for listening the duration. I also thought this piece would be pretty interesting rendered with some of the Early Music samples that Aaron is using.

Well, I hope you achieve a nice synergistic relationship with Maz...

Cheers,
Jon

I presume not, or he'd be using it.

Hooray!

Sounds like there's something amiss with the Nonagenta et novem
mp3, though.

I liked his version of Chromosounds especially, though I think the
oboe is a little low in volume.

That's an interesting thought.

Should be:

On following your links to his music, I find
that Maz has a long pedigree in music and some
very interesting friends ... It would be good
to see your music hit the big-time, Gene.

I *liked* "Choraled". With this rendition,
I now like it even better; the timbres add
clarity to the interacting lines which was
somewhat obscured in your earlier renditions.
The structure of the piece is now more evident.

On a second listen ... possibly some of the
credit for this increase in clarity may be due
to clearer *articulations*?

Thanks for posting this! It's most enjoyable.
I will now listen to the other pieces.

Please tell me - are the MIDI files on the Maz
page as you wrote them, or are they Maz's
versions of them?

Regards,
Yahya

Glad you liked it.

Aside from choice of instruments, as I wrote them.
