What gauge nylon for tie on frets?

I used to post here occassionally (a few yesars back). I'm glad
everyone is still here and posting! Good to see lots of new names
amongst the old favourites! :-)

I got myself a fret pulling tool the other day from this website

No I did not order the stew...

I have a cheap strat copy that I want to defret and replace the frets
with nylon tie ons, as explained in David Doty's JI primer book.

Has anybody had experience with this technique? From your experience
what gauge nylon (fishing wire) is best?
