Enough with the OSX/Linux/Unix stuff

Hey listers,

I tried to keep it as narrow as possible: the Mac platform. I should have actually said OS X or a recent Mac OS. Lets not let MMM get diffused by an OT dialogue about other operating systems which don't have any relevance to my original question.

Thanks to all that offered suggestions, on the mark or not!
