For those of you who have missed the lengthy and energetic
contributions made by Brian McLaren to the world of music writing, he
appears to be haunting Sequenza 21. In a comment to a post by Kyle
Gann, someone signed in as mclaren rips the crew a new one. Very
entertaining. It is all in response to Kyle's innocuous post here:

Prent,

In a nutshell, it appear so. However, apropos your sig:

>Don't feed the trolls...

I chose not to mention it around here. I have contacted a couple people at S21 privately, so that they understand the situation. Most of them seem like good people and don't deserve that junk.

Cheers,
Jon

Yow. You don't need to look at the name to have a guess who must have
written it. Some quotes:

"...a hick burg on the ass end of nowhere (Manhattan) located on an
island offshore from the continental United States, is not a part of
America."

"The Germanic paradigm of musical comopsitional arises from deep
Hegelian historicism behaviorist roots."

"I'd take one mass by Guillaume Machaut over everything Mozart ever
composed."

I've only heard one, but that one is a big deal on historical grounds.
We wrote plenty of other stuff, though.
