Is there any such thing as a MIDI flute controller?
I came across this:

Recorder fingering is one of the 4 possible fingerings. I think there
is even a recorder mouthpiece for it, though whoever opts for it would
deprive oneself of the lip sensor (very useful for pitch bends and
vibrato).

Matt runs the windcontroller Yahoo group if you want more info.

I might need more info. We will see. I work with someone
that plays the flute, her husband plays the drums in a rock
band. He doesn't regard the flute sound as being rocky enough.
I'll mention to her that she could buy a controller that would
make whatever sound a rock group could desire.

I don't expect much from my idea, but it's worth a shot.

Thanks,

Stephen Szpak

I played in a band that included a dating couple - the guy was always
finding fault one way or another with the girl's sound or playing. I
love them both, but some couples shouldn't be in a band together... I
have a feeling getting that woman a MIDI wind controller is not going
to fix the deeper issue.

Good luck with that situation....

There's a guy on the windcontroller group who is seeking input on a
wind controller he is designing and building himself. He sincerely
wants to incorporate microtuning-friendly features. However, he
hasn't crossed over here and nobody that I know of has crossed over
there. And I'm not enough of a wind player to help him.

This could very well be it. It might be a 'guys night out'
sort of thing. When I worked with him ( he went on to a better
job last month ) he said that he wasn't in the band for money,
but to keep his sanity. But if the two of them
don't play occasionaly at
home for fun, a MIDI wind controller might have some use (?).

I don't know anything at all about wind instruments myself.

Been looking for about a hour for song he likes.
Title or group named after a city on the moon.

are .mid or what.

Jxxxx mentioned a group that played in microtonal but
I wasn't paying attention. An Arab group. Forgot name.

Here are some links here to Symphonyx.
People can check these out
for musical ideas or whatever. Let me know if
you get anything from this. Everything might be 12 though,
I can't tell.

.mid is why, unless you have a voice synthesizer.

Sounds very 12 to me. But that doesn't mean the original
recordings were.

Sounds like run-of-the-mill neoprog. A genre which apparently
sees prog as a subgenre of heavy metal. :(

++++++++++ Jxxxx was a boss of mine at work until a month ago.
Didn't want his name up in lights. Jxxxx means it starts
with a "J" and has a total of five letters.

+++++++++++But it is all just data. (don't get it, but glad I
don't have to hear the words from this group.

+++++++++++Never heard of the term "neoprog". I don't
get out much. Have no one here to discuss music
with. (Must be why I have the opportunity to be
on this list.)

Southern New England blue-collar humor. I mistakenly

MIDI files don't contain audio data, they contain score data.

Oh, Southern New England. If you're anywhere near Boston,
there's plenty of folks to meet up with. I know the phrase,
just didn't know why you brought it up.
