programs for mapping spectra

No... I havent (yet?) been able to control metasynth precisely enough.
I do have some pieces "in the works" that use metasynth, but this one
used some routines that do spectral mappings written in Matlab
(a language common in engineering circles).

This might be a good time to mention that I'd be happy to share
the code, though this must go along with a warning that the code
isnt particularly "user friendly" and would definitely require
knowledge of (and access to) Matlab.

Did you make the music _in_ Matlab? I use Matlab for just about
everything, but haven't used it to make music yet (aside from
isolated chords). Can you describe your procedure more fully?

you might want to check in over there for people's reactions.
