The Black Box of Asbury Park will present The Harry Partch Ensemble
Dec. 15 at 8 p.m. as part of The Music of Invention series now being
held at the Shore Institute of Contemporary Art (SICA) in Long Branch.
The group led by Dean Drummond will be performing work by
composer/inventor Harry Partch on the original instruments Partch
built for the creation of "microtonal" music. Music by other
microtonal composers, including Drummond, who was a student and
colleague of Partch, will also be on the program. The Music of
Invention concerts are held at 8 p.m. on the third Thursday of each
month in SICA's intimate café setting at the gallery at 20 Third Ave.
