This page will give you lotsa info. on refretting for guitars.

Since I have sufficient resources for my family's comfortable
survival, I haven't attempted to "nickel and dime" $$ for aspiring
microtonal guitarists.
My policy has been to give away the data, and let anyone who wishes
to use it.

Provided people keep buying CD's and downloading LucyTuned Lullabies
(from around the world) from iTunes; I should be able to continue
this free info. policy indefinitely.

If you take your fretted instrument to any competent luthier, he/she
will be able to refret to the specs.
Values for other nut to bridge distances can be easily calculated
free on request from the FileMaker DB that I use; (email me with nut
to bridge distance);
or from this xl spreadsheet file for a multitude of tuning systems
and scale lengths.

For the XL file - download (.sit) it from link at the bottom of this
page.

I haven't visited John Carruthers since the late 80's. At that time
he had a very impressive workshop in Venice CA
and was using an NC (numerical control) system (based on a milling
machine) to cut the grooves for the frets for any spec you should
choose.
I know he had LucyTuning values and others, and is prolly still using
them.

LucyTuned instruments that I have seen and tested from his workshop
have shown excellent workmanship.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the info. As soon as I finalize my tuning, I'll be contacting Carruthers.
