Centaur's Return Progress/Toddle On Home

Hi all,

By way of some small reciprocation for cool tunes up around this
joint:

I've been sitting on this one for a while, and I don't think it's
going to get any more fixing up, so here it is.

_Centaur's Return Progress_

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=264985

Kraig Grady's Centaur Scale (septimal 12-tone) in a modal (lydian
augmented?) sort of noodle. All the chord changes were worked out,
but who knows what happened when I finally played it.

It's all Cronox 2 presets, maybe a tiny edit here or there.

_Toddle On Home_

This is very, very sketchy, but last night I finally read some of
monz's blues rap over on tuning, and promptly spit this out. I
think septimals DO give a really good clue to blues ideas, so I'm
trying to work them a lot, I guess.

The distortion (which may be the best thing about it ;-)is the
batteries in my guitar preamp dying, and even though I had lots more
energy for it today, I didn't bother with it this morning when I
found the batts completely dead. Sorry, but I will get back to it.

Hopes you enjoy, and comments tremendously (!) appreciated.

Happy Sunday!

muchas grace,

Pete

I love it....'Centaur' is a great tuning, I've enjoyed using it in the past.

Cronox 2 presets seem very nice...esp. that pump-organ like sound.

You see....technology isn't all that bad!

-Aaron.

very very nice, almost syrian in flavor or from that area, but in and out of different influences as if they are being deliberately undermined. ancient greek in the the eastern sense too.
i like the combination of a very old almost gregorian twisted up dies irae melody with this faster moving line.
like a kid running around a man walking down the street try to sway him in some direction.
Possibly the title comes for the astrological notion of one Chiron (classified astronomically as a centaur) returning at a certain age.
i forgot where you are at off hand.

Oops! It's some quasi-symmetrical melodic minor kinda deal. I was
remembering my little Schlesinger thing, which was like
a "mixolydian #4" thing, I think.

Yes, it is! I'm too broke to upgrade hardware which I need to run
the cool software that's out, now, which I'm also too broke to get,
anyway. It sucks! ;-)

Seriously, I'm VERY pleased you enjoy it. You're a fine, fine
musician, so I couldn't hope for higher compliments.

Thanks!

Pete

Wow! Kraig.

It's almost eerie how much I think that says about myself that I had
no idea was coming out in the music.

Now I'm desperately trying to find another Chiron (Cheiron)
reference, because I just kind of 'made it up', but intuitively
(?!?!?) meant to say that I think the centaurs return is hitting
some snags (???).

Merci beaucoup, monsieur!

P
