Carl,
This is neat. I've been a fan of balloon instruments ever since the
70's, when I used balloon resonators inside flower pots to mount
plowshare percussion. I also made balloon drums, balloon flutes, and
bass balloon-a-phones, which were kind of like bassoons out of sewer
pipes with balloons vibrating with wind pressure. I never thought of
this guy's balloon bass. What a sound!
Coincidentally, I've been working on a piece for balloon drums and
other instruments, which appears on my podcast channel, as bumper
music between programs. Latest is at http://podcast1024.libsyn.com
Small world.

Wow! Do any recordings of these survive?

I really like the sound too. His playing isn't always as
accurate as I'd like, but sometimes it is.

Wow, the expressiveness of the instrumentals in BalloonDrumMusic10&11
seems to have taken a quantum leap since the last time I listened to
your stuff. Are you using a breath controller or something?
I assume the tuning here is the 11-limit diamond?

You're right. I need to reduce the size of the pix.
