And I meant to add to this request that I'm on a WindowsXP and linux machine, so a Mac-only solution is no good to me. Thanks.

Hi Jon,

Since you've got a PC, chances are your sound card, or on-motherboard
sound chipset, already has some effects including reverb and chorus,
built in. There is some degree of configurability in most I've seen - it
may not be what consider "good quality" tho. You can use those effects
to transform your replay from any sound source, including line in and CD.
Then record the result, and write it to CD.

That's a zero-cost option, and uses chip hardware rather than software,
which is a sight easier. Still, if you want more configurability, you'll
probably need software.

Yahya

Hi Jon,

Sorry to say, I couldn't get it to download AT ALL. Just got a webpage
that told me it was -
"Opening page product.download.mirrors.php?id=75869 at www.simtel.net ..."

However, the page remained steadfastly blank for several hours while I did
other (low-bandwidth) things.

What a pity! Looked so useful, too.

It worked fine for me - did it ask you to select a mirror before downloading? The first mirror site I looked at was a bit dodgy with pop-up ads galore, so I chose another, and the download was very fast (I do have a fast connection here at the office)

Haven't actually tried running it yet though...

I'll write you off-list, and upload the installer so you can download it easily - hey, it's only a third the size of my stupid piece! Then you can write me back when you've got it, and I'll remove the file again. It seems to be a well-crafted, very useful audio app.

Cheers,
Jon

Jon,
As good as your word! Let me place my appreciation of your kindness
on public record.

Don't put your music, or yourself, down - that's what friends are for!

Still planning to have a proper listen to your piece later tonight, when
the hordes have gone to bed.

Yahya

Jon,
Thanks for the tip. I remember recently choosing a Taiwan mirror
for a download - might have been Kristal - as being marginally closer
to me than any other mirror listed.

Do try running it - I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth
and professional it seems.
