I'm absolutely baffled. On none of the articles i read there is any
mention at all about how the 256 light-switches actually affect what
sound comes out of it. And the Yamaha site doesn't even work like it
should for me, all i get is a empty white square. I guess it's some
kind of sequencer/algorithmic process going on?

I know... I was frustrated too. Probably more details will emerge
in a few weeks/months.
