OK -- a chord has three intervals, right? So the corner nearest us
(bottom-left on the 2-d graph) is where all three intervals are zero. Now
the distance from the left edge is the size of the upper interval; the
distance from the bottom-right edge is the size of the lower interval, and
the distance from the upper-right edge is one octave minus the size of the
outer interval. Look at the chords and see if you can see this pattern. Is
it starting to come together?

This helps some... I actually love this graphic, particularly when
combined, now, with the Finnamore sound file!!!
