harmony without "fifths"

I sent a version of this post two hours or so ago but it hasn't
appeared yet so I'll shoot again.

Some discussion was had recently about harmony that doesn't use an
interval readilly recognizable as a Western tonal "fifth." Such fifth
has been defined as having an interval between about 680 and 720
cents, or 3:2 +/- 20 cents, if you will. Since that seems a
reasonable range, consistent with my perceptions, and since no one has
disputed it on this forum, I'll accept it for purposes of this thread.

I've just uploaded two short pieces in mp3 format to the files section
of this forum. They are in two different but similar tunings, with no
intervals in the 680-720 cent range between any two tones. They
demonstrate, I hope, that sweet sounding harmony can be made without
Western fifths. You decide and tell me. I might be biased.

I had the links automatically posted but I'll repeat them here for
convenience:

Again, if you use the Yahoo web interface and click the "Unwrap lines"
link at the bottom of this email, the links should not contain broken
lines. Technology is a wonderful thing when it works.

The tuning details:
The scales are six tone, octave repeating MOS's with a large-to-small
step size ratio of Phi. The exact tunings, in cents and with all
modes spelled out, are:

#1
0 214 427 641 854 1068
0 214 427 641 854 986
0 214 427 641 773 986
0 214 427 559 773 986
0 214 346 559 773 986
0 132 346 559 773 986

#2

0 223 446 669 892 977
0 223 446 669 754 977

0 223 308 531 754 977
0 85 308 531 754 977

Note the glaring absence of simple 5-limit JI approximations. :->

OK, fine, be that way. But it does work on messages 570 and 571.

David!
Nice stuff-good shifts in mood. the first part of #1 is especially
moving emotionally. maybe the absence of fifths gives this sense of
yearning.

Some discussion was had recently about harmony that doesn't use fifths
as defined by 3:2 +/- approx. 20 cents. I've just uploaded two short
pieces to the files section that I hope demonstrate how sweet and
harmonious non-Western diads and triads can be. I'll include the
links here, hoping they don't break (unchecked "Wrap message text" -
we'll see if that works).

repeating, MOS scale with a large-to-small step ratio of Phi. These
